A smooth operation is key
Since starting in 1998 as an office junior, after leaving college, I have worked my way through the ranks, learning every aspect of the job, planning, operational, customer services, management. Working with my Dad has had its challenges but I couldn’t of asked for a better role model, teaching me everything he has learned over the last 40 years.
I met my now husband at Shires Removals and have had two wonderful children.
I would say my goal at work is completing everything to the best of my ability, treating our customers with respect, helping them with a very stressful time and making everything as smooth as possible.

I take care of everything relating to our modern fleet
I deal with all maintenance and repairs of our modern fleet of vehicles. We buy chassis cabs and then build our own bodies to our own specifications then paint and signwrite them ready for removals. As well as our own fleet we also maintain third party vehicles to VOSA standards which is most important as we don’t want breakdowns on removals as this is a most frustrating time in life. I have been at Shires now since being two years old and travelled with my dad Paul all over Europe, learning every skill he could show me plus many more on my own. I am a class I HGV driver, fork lift driver and first aider.
Customer care is top of my list
Hi I’m Polly – admin assistant and part of the team at The Shires Removal Group. My current responsibilities are booking, storage and invoicing. Eg. Taking client information on behalf of our estimators to ensure all your personal needs and requirements are taken into account thus providing you with an excellent hassle free move….. Customer care is top of my list always.

Assisting customers from start to finish.
I have worked within the transport and customer service industry for the last 20 years since leaving school. I hold a CPC National in road haulage and am a company first aider. Involved with most procedures within the office, I deal daily with customer enquiries, storage accounts and scheduling resources for the removals. I am here to assist our customers as a point of contact from the moment of their first enquiry right up to their removal day. Generally we do not move home very often so moving can be very stressful and daunting. I use my knowledge and background to try and make the journey as smooth and satisfying as possible. Worked at Shires for 12 years
I love how varied my work is.
I have worked at Shires for over 12 years and have found the work very varied and interesting. I started at Shires as a drivers mate and worked my way up learning my trade to become a key player in the removals field. I carry out long distance and some European removals as well as local moves which require a full packing service.
